Rowena is a member of the firm's Litigation Practice Group, where she practices in the areas of commercial, employment, criminal and civil rights litigation.
Rowena joined the firm in 2000 and became a principal in 2005. Before joining the firm, Rowena served as a law clerk to the Honorable Dominic J. Squatrito, United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut, and to the Honorable Thomas P. Smith, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Connecticut.
Rowena worked as an analyst and underwriter at Aetna Life & Casualty in Hartford, Connecticut, prior to attending law school. Rowena is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Connecticut School of Law Alumni Association (President, 2005-2006), New Haven Inn of Court (Secretary, 2003-2005), and Federal Bar Council. She also serves as a mentor for the University of Connecticut's Law School Student Mentor Program.
Rowena received her B.A. (1989) with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she majored in International Economics and minored in Spanish. While attending the University of North Carolina, Rowena received the Alba E. Ebersole Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Spanish and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Rowena received her J.D. (1997) with high honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she was an Editor of the Connecticut Law Review and President of the William F. Starr Insurance Law Moot Court Competition. Rowena is a member of the Connecticut bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.
